  3. INTRODUCTION Spain is a famous country because of its festivals and its traditions. But now we only are going to explain you some of our most important festivals.

  4. . ``THE SAN FERMINES´´ ``The San Fermines´´ is a festival in honor to San Fermin. It takes place in Pamplona ( Navarra ), a city in the North of Spain. One of the most famous activities of San Fermin is the enclosure, which consists on a race of 849 meters in front of bulls. The race finishes in the bullring. The enclosures take place every day from the 7th of July to the 14th of July, and it starts at eight o'clock, with an average duration of two or three minutes. In this festival all the people wear white clothes and red headscarves.

  5. In almost all the cities of Spain there are fairs, but the most popular are the fairs of Andalucia, and the most famous one is the April Fair. It takes place in Seville, a city in the South of Spain. In this fair you can find a lot of sheds and attractions that are install in the fairground that is in the neighborhood of The Remedios. In this fair, women and girls usually wear a special dress called ``vestido de gitana´´ that has flounces and polka-dots. Theyalsowear a flower in the head. Themen and theboyswearspecialclothestoo. Thepeople dance ``sevillanas´´ thatis a dance verytipical in Spain. TheAprilFair

  6. TheTomatina TheTomatinais a festival thattakes place in Buñol (Valencia).This festival consist in throwripestomatoesbetweentheparticipants. ItiscelebratethelastWendsday of August. Youshouldweardivinggogglestoprotectyoureyes, and oldclothes.

  7. The Fallas The Fallas takes place in some Valencia’s cities, from the 15th to the 19th of March. In this festival people make statues by hand and they participate in a competition. The best statues get a price and finally the people burn all the statues.

  8. TheCascamorras The Cascamorras takes places in Baza and Guadix (Granada).It is a festival in honor to the Dolores’ virgin. In it a man from Guadix, the Cascamorras, runs around Baza and while he is running we have to try to stain him with brown paint. If we don´t stain the Cascamorras, he will get the Dolores´ virgin to itstown (Guadix). You have to wear old clothes and oil to take off better the paint of your body.
