  1. Commands of Christ Matt. 28:18-20 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Commands of Christ Rewards of Discipleship (Keeping God’s commands) • God will reveal Himself to us: • John 14:21 Whoever has my commands and obeys them, … I too will … show myself to him." • We will abide in God’s love: • John 15:10 If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, … • Our prayers will be answered: • 1 John 3:22 and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him.

Commands of Christ Rewards of Discipleship (Keeping God’s commands) • We have assurance of our love for God: • John 14:15 If you love me, you will obey what I command. • Our love for the Body of Christ is revealed: • 1 John 5:2 This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands.
