  2. Directions: General Recently your were asked to consider this question: If Schindewolf (SIS) were a cell, what would its organelles be? You then traveled around the school, photographing various structures in the school that you believed possessed functions similar to those of plant cell organelles. Today you will insert these photographs into a slide show that depicts the “organelles” of your imaginary “Schindewolf Cell.” Furthermore, you will justify/explain your choices of photographs. Your justifications/explanations: Must be recorded using a microphone Should use various sentence structures

  3. Directions: Using Varied Sentence StructuresUse these sentences to help you create variety in your explanations: • The (name a structure) in SIS would bethe (name a plant cell organelle), since it (does what?) for the school. • The function of the (name an SIS structure( would be that of a (name an organelle) because it (does what?/serves what function?) for Schindewolf. • Just as the (name a plant cell organelle)(does what for a cell?), the (name the school structure/item)(does what for the school?). • A (what?) of our school acts as the(name a plant cellorganelle) because it (does what?) • The function of the (name a structure in SIS) of our school is to (do what?). For this reason, it would be the (name an organelle) of SIS. • Whenever (name a structure in SIS) (does what?), it is acting like a (name an organelle in a plant cell).

(Go to Insert, click Picture, click From File, select Drive a:\, double click on photo (which will have a name such as MVC02S. Photo should appear in slide.) Insert recorded explanation. Which plant organelle does the above structure represent? Why do you think so? Record your answer using the microphone. When recording your explanations, use a variety of sentence formats. (See slides called “Directions: Using Varied Sentence Structures”) When you are finished recording, delete these green boxes.

  7. Sample Slide(Every slide that you create should be similar to the following…)

  8. Chloroplast

  9. Your Slides:(Use the following slide as a template. Insert your own organelle name, photograph, and recorded comment on each slide.

  10. Triple-Click Here to Type the Name of a Plant Organelle Note: Insert duplicates of this slide so that you will have one slide per photographed “organelle.” To do so, go to the menu bar, click Insert, and then click Duplicate Slide.
