5. If not… • You will be placed on probation for the semester • You will be sent a letter to inform you of your status

6. How do I earn Points? • Point System • The point system is designed to ensure active participation by Spanish National Honor Society members in the organization. In order to wear honor stoles from the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica at the end of the senior year, • you must have accumulated 80 points (120 points as an officer) per year that you are a member of the society. • The point value for respective activities is as follows: • 1) 10 points= participating in a project • 2) 20 points=dance, sing or model in Multicultural Night • 3) 5 points= attending a meeting • 4) 5 points= helping SHH officers (during officer meetings, activities, office work...) • 5) 5 points= tutoring for ½ hour (If you are member of NHS tutoring counts double) • 6) 3 points= wearing the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica T-shirt on Thursday. (See Mrs. Sein) • 7) 5 points= ½ hour helping out teacher • 8) 5 points= doing one hour of community service. (Bring copy of you community service hours.) (Maximum 40 points)*

7. Thursdays is the day to wear your shirt • Get a teacher to sign your yellow sheet.

8. Dues are annual • If you wish to be an active member in good standing in the Spanish National Honor Society (Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica) but have not paid your annual membership dues of $20, you have until the 2nd day of February to do so. After the 2nd, if you have not paid your dues, you will not be considered as an active member of the society.

9. New OFFICER • You must submit a declaration of intent to run • Then you will be asked to conduct a presentation of why you should be elected in our December Meeting • Office Positions • President • Vice president • Secretary • Treasurer • Committee Chair

10. Elections • January 17th Meeting: ALL UNDERCLASSMEN will vote and attend this meeting • New officers will begin planning and working with Senior officers in January

11. NEED HELP • January 31th meeting: Folder letters for Inductions • FEBRUARY 9th: ALL members and ALL officers are to be in attendance for inductions. • We will be in need of refreshments for the evening • Sign up sheet will be available at the January meeting

12. SENIORS • You must pay your dues • Maintain yourself in good status • Complete your 80 points if you are not an officer • If you are an officer you must complete 120 points SENIORS ONLY: In order to wear your stole and attend the Senior LINNER at La Nopalera in April
