  2. Police Detective Police and detective work can be physically demanding, stressful, and dangerous. Police officers have one of the highest rates of injuries and illnesses of all occupations. Working around the clock in shifts is common. The median annual wage for police and detectives was $56,980 in May 2012.

Agents and Business Managers of Artists, Performers, and Athletes Vacancies for this career have slightly increased by 8.29 percent nationwide in that time, with an average growth of 1.38 percent per year. Demand for Agents and Business Managers of Artists, Performers, and Athletes is expected to go up, with an expected 16,040 new jobs filled by 2018.

  4. Insurance Adjusters, Examiners, and Investigators Most claims adjusters, appraisers, examiners, and investigators work full time. They often work outside the office, inspecting properties for which insurance claims have been made, such as damaged buildings and automobiles. In May 2012, the median annual wage for claims adjusters, examiners, and investigators was $59,960.

  5. My 3 career choices are Insurance Adjusters, Examiners, and Investigators, Police Detective, and Agents and Business Managers of Artists, Performers, and Athletes. I chose these 3 jobs because I can basically be my own boss. And I receive respect and admiration from others.
