MISSION • The mission of the Plattsburgh Sunrise Rotary Club is to make a positive impact in the lives of our members, and within our communities, by providing opportunities for service and leadership at the local and international levels. • We achieve this through a committed, diverse and knowledgeable membership made stronger through project work, fellowship and fun.

  6. THE FOUR-WAY TEST • The Four-Way Test is an ethical guide Rotarians use for their personal and professional relationships. The test has been translated into more than 100 languages: • Of the things we think, say or do… • Is it the TRUTH? • Is it FAIR to all concerned? • Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? • Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

MISSION OF HOPE – NICARAGUA – 2014 Tom and Bonnie inspecting a water tower that the noon and Sunrise club had installed last year.  One of the projects this year is to have a second tank installed in order to help provide a Sunrise Rotary President Tom LaBombard and District Governor Bonnie Black inspect a water tower that the Plattsburgh Rotary Clubs installed last year.

  14. LITERACY CHALLENGE – 2014 On March 1, 2014, twenty-one teams competed in the 22nd-annual Literacy Challenge to raise funds for the Literacy Volunteers of Clinton County. Sunrise Rotary is a long standing co-sponsor of the event.

  16. MAYOR’S CUP PRESS CONFERENCE – 2014 The 2014 logo and t-shirt designed by Sunrise Rotarian Katie Jennett-Caska was unveiled at the Mayor’s Cup press conference on March 26, 2014 at City Hall.

  17. IRISHMAN OF THE YEAR BREAKFAST - 2014 Sunrise Rotarian Dr. Kjell Dahlen was named ‘Irishman of the Year’ for his dedication to community service.

  18. ROTARY BOWLING NIGHT- 2014 • Plattsburgh Sunrise and Noon Rotarians, and their family and friends, enjoyed a night at the lanes on April 9th.

  19. PLATTSBURGH HALF MARATHON - 2014 Sunrise Rotary was the sponsor of Mile Marker 10 and volunteers cheered on the 830+ runners. Proceeds from the Marathon benefit Team Fox and Parkinson's Research.

  20. TREE HOUSE 10K AND 5K RUN/WALK - 2014 • Sunrise Rotarians ran and volunteered their time to support this event that raised over $1,100 for a universally accessible tree house on Plattsburgh’s Saranac River Trail.

  21. CHAMBER AFTER HOURS - 2014 • Plattsburgh Sunrise and Noon Rotary co-hosted the Chamber’s monthly business networking event at Café Mooney Bay on Lake Champlain on May 15th.

  22. BIGGEST LOSER RUN/WALK - 2014 Sunrise Rotarians volunteered and ran to support the Biggest Loser Run/Walk. 1600 runners registered from 22 states.

  23. NATIONAL TRAIL DAY - 2014 In honor of National Trail Day on June 7th, Sunrise Rotarians and volunteers from other local service organizations helped to clean up Plattsburgh’s Saranac River Trail.

  24. ANNUAL ROTARY GOLF OUTING - 2014 • Plattsburgh Sunrise and Noon Rotary groups enjoyed a round of golf and good fellowship at the 29th annual “Memorial” outing at the Barracks.

  25. MAYOR’S CUP PRESS CONFERENCE – 2014 A second Mayor’s Cup press conference took place on June 18, 2014 to provide an update on new events.

  26. ROTARIAN OF THE YEAR – 2014 President Tom LaBombard recognizes Bruce Grindle as the 2014 Rotarian of the Year, and thanks him for his dedication and commitment to Sunrise Rotary and Rotary International.

  27. PAUL HARRIS FELLOWS AWARDS DINNER – 2014 Sunrise Rotary honored Harriet Burrows as the 2014 “Community Paul Harris Fellow“ at the annual awards dinner on June 24th. The "Community" recipient is awarded each year to one person from outside the club who the committee feels has exemplified the Rotary tradition of "service above self".

  29. FARMERS MARKET– 2014 Sunrise Rotarians Connie Fisher, Paul Raino, Joanne Knowlton and others volunteered their time to sell Mayor’s Cup T-shirts at the Farmers Market.
