Rental Car Problems and Solving Equations: Homework Review

  4. Rental Car Problems • Companies that rent cars generally charge a fixed amount per day with an additional charge for each mile driven. • You have 3 options of rental car companies from which to rent a particular model of car. • Go-Go Car Rentals • Wreckem Car Rentals • Good Rents

  5. Rental Car Problems • Go-Go Car Rentals has a daily charge of $28 with an additional charge of $0.25 per mile. • Wreckem Car Rentals has a daily charge of $29.95 with an additional charge of $0.23 per mile. • Good Rents has a daily charge of $21.65 with an additional charge of $0.27 per mile.

How many minutes of long-distance phone calls, m, did you make? • Jada’s electric company charges $8 per month plus $0.11 per kilowatt-hour of electricity used. If her bill was $52, how many kilowatt-hours, k, did she use? • Dylan is placing an online order for baseballs for his baseball team. The shipping cost is $8, plus it costs $2.10 per baseball ordered. Dylan only has $71 to spend on baseballs. How many baseballs, b, can he order?
