what is city equals about
What is City Equals about

We are a group of young people who are the voice’s for young people with Learning difficulties and disabilities in Sunderland (LDD). We are part of a committee which have roles and reasonability's. where some members are voted into the roles; the roles are showing on slide three. To make this fair we do have a in house voting system which decide who get vote into the roles.

The group take part in training to develop their confidence ,self seem, group work and team work. But above all to serve as a member for all LDD.

history of city equals
History of City Equals
  • Youth Development Group first developed City Equals in 2003. The Youth Strategy funded the staff which ran the project once a fortnight. City Equals were a group of 8 to 10 young people aged 15 to 25 yrs. The group was set up to link in with Youth Parliament Group. Over the years the group has been involved in City debates and Youth Inc. The group also received a Children People Service award 2007 and runners up for Young Achievers award in 2008.also the group won the over all Achievers award in 2011.
  • The group have moved on in many different levels; City Equals still have some of the older members who are still very active in City Equals.
