Technology • In this bond referendum, 21.2 million dollars is set aside for technology upgrades and refresh. • Replacement of older equipment • Purchase of new technology to support classroom • instruction • Upgrading Enterprise systems such as data • management systems and the infrastructure to • support them

  7. Transportation • The bond proposal includes 69 buses to be purchased for growth and replacement. • Purchased over the next three years • Replacement buses for those over 15 years old • Current Fleet • 11,570 students • 265 buses • 466 routes • 2.7 million miles per year

  18. 2011-12 Budget Summary • 2011-2012 Adopted Balanced Budget of $181,440,070 (revenues and expenditures) • State cuts were approximately $10.75 million • Adjusted staffing guidelines and absorbed 117 teaching positions and 21 paraprofessional positions • Savings of $4.8 • No staff lay-offs • Additional strategies • Education Jobs Grant funds of $3.98 million • Federal Grant Funds of $500,000

  22. Bond Savings Projected increase for 2011-12 is $0.0255 and is reflected above.

  23. Financial Impact to Lamar CISD Taxpayers $5.00 per month or 17 cents per day Based on property values with growth exceeding 3%, taxpayers would see a tax rate increase of approximately $0.03461 for the term of the bond.

  24. Based on the average home value for 2011 of $187,672, a taxpayer would see an increase of approximately $5 per month.

  25. No Tax Increase for Taxpayers Over 65 Senior citizens over 65 who have filed for exemptions will see NO increase in their taxes as a result of the bond.
