  2. the release of Xbox one • Over 500 stores across the country opened at midnight (22nd of November 2013) to sell the console • It is the first Xbox to go on sale since the Xbox 360 was released in 2005 • The console costs £429.99 and comes with an improved Kinect sensor • Many retailers have sold out with others set to run out before Christmas • Microsoft turned Leicester square into the Xbox one square for the launch

  3. Multimedia • Not only is the Xbox live still the best online service in the world but you can also multitask on the new Xbox one • Multitasking between games, movies and Skype (including four-person video conference) • Instant switch between your TV and game

  4. Smart glass • Rather than support its own portable console, Microsoft has already started using ‘smart glass'. Its a way of connecting Xbox games to tablets and smartphones in order to use them as second screens, for accessing maps or inventories.

  5. The kinect • Far more reliable then the Xbox 360 edition • None of the main launch games use motion controls in any major capacity • Games make extensive use of voice commands
