  3. Restoration Goals • Quantifiable energy flow • Nutrient cycling • Productivity • A functional, restored stream with reduced erosion and sedimentation • Removal of aquatic pollutants and nutrient load on site (stormwater treatment) • Removal of exotic invasive species

  4. Cultural Goals • A pleasant, aesthetic green space in which to spend time that has a less “landscaped” feel than many other parts of campus • An exhibition of Clemson University’s commitment to sustainability • An area for community members to become engaged and learn about sustainable practice and design, and ecological restoration • Protecting the site from urban development in the future
