Decursin Inhibits NF-kB Activation in THP-1 Cells Stimulated by LPS

This research explores how decursin impacts the activation of NF-kB in THP-1 cells when stimulated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS). THP-1 cells were pretreated with decursin for 2 hours before exposure to LPS (1 mg/ml). Immunofluorescence assays were used to assess the subcellular localization of NF-кB p50 after treatment at various time points. The findings indicate that decursin effectively blocks NF-kB activation, providing insights into its anti-inflammatory potential.

A, THP-1 cells were pretreated with decursin for 2 hrs and stimulated with 1 mg/ml LPS. Thirty minutes after the activation, subcellular location of p50 was tested using immunofluorescence assay. B, THP-1 cells were pretreated with decursin for 2 hrs and stimulated with 1 mg/ml LPS. The subcellular location of p50 was tested after indicated times.
