The Beginning of The Band Barrett already knew Roger Waters from his school years and he reconnected with him when he moved to London.Waters formed a band with Richard Wright and Nick Mason. When one of the members left, Barrett joined.
Pink Floyd In the summer of 1965,they began using the name «Pink Floyd».
First Album Their first album came out in 1967; it'snamed «The Piper at the Gates».
The Beginning of The End After their first album came out, Barrett's behavior became unusual due to his drug addiction.
Wish You Were Here On April 6th,1968, Pink Floyd announced that Barrett was no longer a member of the band and they hired David Gilmour as a second guitarist to cover for Barrett. Syd Barrett and David Gilmour
After His Success Between 1968 and 1972,Barrett released two albums,played in concerts but was never really satisfied.When he was 32,he moved in with his mother in Cambridge.
His Death Barrett died of pancreatic cancer on July 7th, 2006,at the age of 60,in Cambridge.
Conclusion I love this artist because he's the most original musician ever. He created psychedelic rock music. Syd Barrett is a legend and will be in our hearts forever.
