  5. Jack Morrison, Presidentof the three locations of All-tronics, has been with the company since it’s beginning in 1960Jack is a “hands on” transformational leaderA transformational leader can be defined as one who brings about a positive change in an individual and in the organization. They encourage change in the followers by appreciating their strengths and weaknesses and being a positive role model (Sosik & Cameron, 1999). Sue Danke

  6. Leadership and Management techniques Jack has successfully managed to negotiate his company through a severe economic downturn. Living in the community he serves, he was forced to lay off more that half of his employees. However, his company survived and the community still respects, and uses it’s services. “Good communication during a crisis can soften even prevent the public’s negative reactions” (Todarita, 2009, p. 799) Sue Danke

  7. All-tronics has been successful because of it’s leadership, and the ability to make adjustments quickly. • Hamel, 2002 and Moore, 1999, cite that “successful small business environments flourish and grow due to their ability to innovate, challenge the status quo and rapidly adapt to internal and external drivers” (as stated in Becker, G. F.(2007). • Sue Danke

  8. As a transformational leader, Jack encourage the subordinates to identify with the company’s goals. • He has brought about major and positive changes in the organization. • Values, such as honest, integrity, and commitment are important to him. • Sue Danke

  9. All-tronics management technique was enhanced by a transformation theory because of Jack’s charismatic touch. He was able to interact directly with the subordinates. One study relates to this organization, in that, “Our findings about the moderating effects of firm size are particularly intriguing, suggesting that sphere of impact at the firm level may be constrained by firm size, with transformational CEO’S having a more pronounced effect on objective firm performance in smaller SME’s [small to medium enterprises]” (Ling, Smimsk, Lubatkin, & Veiga, 2008) Sue Danke

  10. Motivational tools and techniques ”Leaders who model respecting others, who regularly engage in dialogue with their staff, who provide feedback on vital statistics regarding the organizational progress, and who allow their staff the opportunities to manage their own areas of responsibility are on the path to revitalizing their organizations” (Mary Stevens, threaded discussion LDR 630, 2013). __________ Through the respect that Jack has garnered, he has been able to help the group become aware of their individual potential. He has cheered them to an expanded vision. By investing in his employees, he has, not only survived as a company, but has build trust in the organization and the stake-holders. Sue Danke Sue Danke
