  2. Get going! • Don’t leave revision until the last minute • Ask your teachers nowwhat you need to know • Plan your revision timetable and stick to it! • Keep revisiting topics, revising them only once won’t do!

  3. Be motivated! Why are GCSEs important to you? • GCSEs are the passport to life beyond Ryedale • Make sure you do your best • Don’t say afterwards ‘if only…’

  4. Find a quiet place to work! Avoid distractions! • Your brain can’t learn and remember if you’re not focussed.

  5. Make your revision active! For brains to remember, they need to do something with the information. The information must go in AND out!

  6. Know the exams • What do you need to know for each paper? • What types of question will you have to answer? • What are the topics? • How do you structure your answers?

  7. Practice makes permanent • Get practice papers and mark schemes • Keep practising • Hand them in and get feedback • Keep practising

  8. We are not telling you it’s going to be easy… We are telling you it’s going to be worth it.
