  1. Design a game for the island children to play You need to include all the rules. Remember that most of the resources (including toys) were wiped out by the hurricane

  2. Pledge for the Week • You’ve learnt all about sustainability this week. • Have a think about what you do in your life. • What one thing could you change to reduce your carbon footprint.

  3. Most of the islanders only have 1 set of dry clothes. Your job is to design an outfit. To complete this task you need to: Draw your outfit. Label your outfit in the relevant foreign language. (colours and items) Complete a description of your outfit in the relevant foreign language Fashion Designer Extraordinaire

  4. Can’t Cook, Won’t Cook • The men on the island reckon they can’t cook as they don’t have the facilities. • Can you design a cooker that uses sustainable technology and is made from salvageable materials?

  5. Willow Workshop Taking further • The islanders have used willow to create a shelter. Beautiful sculptures can also be created out of willow. • Can you draw a sculpture the islanders could create once all the shelters have been completed?

  6. Battle of the Islands • Giant word search • Can you pit your wits against the rest of the group? • Who has retained the most knowledge from the days activities? • What are the important words and themes from the challenges?

  7. Giant word search instructions • Half of the class (group A) needs to produce a Giant Word Search of key words. Large letters are available from the technicians in science. • The other half (group B) need to go outside and write down words they think should be in the word search. • For every word group A put in the search and group B don’t find/haven’t thought of, group A get a point. • For every word group B think of that Group A haven’t put into the word search Group B gets a point.
