  1. Chapter 9Text 27-29 Principles of Devotional service. Krsna is equal to everyone.

  2. Text 27-28 yat karoñi yad açnäsi yaj juhoñi dadäsi yat yat tapasyasi kaunteya tat kuruñva mad-arpaëam çubhäçubha-phalair evaà mokñyase karma-bandhanaiù sannyäsa-yoga-yuktätmä vimukto mäm upaiñyasi Whatever you do, whatever you eat, whatever you offer or give away, and whatever austerities you perform—do that, O son of Kunté, as an offering to Me. In this way you will be freed from bondage to work and its auspicious and inauspicious results. With your mind fixed on Me in this principle of renunciation, you will be liberated and come to Me.

  3. Principles of Devotional service. • Doing everything for Krsna – including our daily life duties. • Principle of Yukta-Vairagya • Sannyasi - Anyone who has no interest but to dedicate his life to the service of the Lord, thus sometime even appear to go against vedic prescriptions. • Behavior of devotee – not to be judged.

  4. Text 29 samo 'haà sarva-bhüteñu na me dveñyo 'sti na priyaù ye bhajanti tu mäà bhaktyä mayi te teñu cäpy aham I envy no one, nor am I partial to anyone. I am equal to all. But whoever renders service unto Me in devotion is a friend, is in Me, and I am also a friend to him.

  5. Krsna is equal to everyone. • If Kåñëa is equal to everyone and no one is His special friend, then why does He take a special interest in the devotees. • He is just like a cloud which pours rain all over, regardless of whether it falls on rock or land or water. • ye yathä mäà prapadyante täàs tathaiva bhajämy aham: "Whoever surrenders unto Me, proportionately I take care of him."

  6. Lord is equal to everyone. • E.g. diamond and gold • If a reciprocal relationship is not present between the devotee and the Lord, then there is no personalist philosophy. In the impersonal philosophy there is no reciprocation between the Supreme and the living entity, but in the personalist philosophy there is. • E.g. Desire tree – Lord is compared to. • Devotional service to the Lord is not an activity of this material world; it is part of the spiritual world, where eternity, bliss and knowledge predominate. • The Lord's reciprocation should not be considered to be under the law of karma. It belongs to the transcendental situation in which the Lord and His devotees function.
