Grid Operations – Departments & Core Functions Network Modeling (Curtis Crews) Operations Planning (John Dumas) Operations Support & Nodal Transition (Bill Blevins) Project Management & Training (Cagle Lowe) • Modeling of Electric Power system for Zonal Energy Management System • Development of processes and procedures for nodal market modeling supporting: • EMS • MMS • CRR • Outage Scheduling & Evaluation • System Planning • Supervision of Modeling personnel • Development of quality assurance processes for market and TSP data. • Communication with market participants regarding modeling issues; including representation on the Network Modeling Task force • State Estimator • Real Time contingency analysis • Voltage Stability Analysis Tool • Operational transient stability analysis • Black Start procurement • Operations planning tools including • MAI • Replacement analysis • Unit testing and Ancillary Service Qualification • Ancillary Service Requirements • Load Forecasting • Wind Forecasting • Development of operations planning strategy • Communication with market participants regarding operation planning issues including representing ERCOT on the Reliability and Operations Subcommittee • Approve or reject planned outages to maintain reliability • Develop operational limits for grid operations • Report Operations performance including • NERC • DOE • TRE • ROS • Perform engineering studies and provide expert advise to support real-time operations • Develop remedial action plans as needed to support efficient/reliable operations. • Propose and implement improvements to real-time operations tools • Coordination of Nodal Transition • System Operations & Market projects delivery • Develop and maintain the system operator training program • Develop and deliver Operator Training Simulator (OTS) Scenarios • Develop and deliver Operator Instructor-led training • Manage Operator Continuing Education Hours (CEH) • Develop and implement annual Blackstart Seminars (ERCOT-wide) • Develop and Facilitate ERCOT-wide Storm Drills • Develop and maintain System Operations operating procedures • Represent ERCOT on NERC subcommittees and standard drafting teams
