  6. What's included? • Basic IT requirements & familiarisation - dedicate at least 2 sessions -SMART card, Pathweb, mock patients • Meeting and understanding roles of the practice team • Community clinics? • Trainer session(s)

  7. Trainer session • Basics of how GP session runs- timings and arriving early to check bloods/emails/ tasks • How to navigate the IT system from a clinician perspective • Practice policies on referrals( acute, routine, FT)

  8. Trainer session • Exam planning • E-portfolio requirements- are trainee and trainer linked? • OOH planning • QOF • Enhanced services • Prescribing policies • Protocols ? Practice intranet

  9. Trainer session • Sitting in sessions- Other GPs / practice nurses/ nurse practitioner • Encourage trainees to think early on about consultation • Home visit shadowing x 2
