  2. Pregnancy Procreation is a law of nature that applies to all species, and thus you do not need to panic. Pregnancies can be classified as low risk and high risk. Most pregnancies are low risk, but when complications do occur, we are here to take care. Be aware of the signs and symptoms of complications to get timely treatment.

Pre-Pregnancy Dos Age is the most important factor in determining the success of pregnancy, and thus it will be best to plan your pregnancy Pre-pregnancy counselling with your doctor can help Keep medical disorders like diabetes, asthma, and hypertension under control. Taking folic acid and B12 supplements can help prevent neural tube effects. ❏ ❏ ❏ ❏ Don'ts Don't take excessive caffeine. Avoid stress. Sound sleep and healthy food habits can decrease stress to a great extent. ❏ ❏

  4. During Pregnancy Exercise Avoid complete bed rest and choose normal work or exercise. Rainbow of foods (a multitude of colors from every type of nutrient-rich fruits and vegetables) Enjoy an adequate balanced nutritious diet during pregnancy Maintain sensible eating patterns in moderation Take iron and calcium supplements and avoid refined carbohydrates Take folic acid and B12 ❏ ❏ ❏ ❏

I Trimester Nausea and vomiting – peaks at 7-12 weeks and settles by 12 weeks Can try home remedies but if severe or dehydrated, seek medical help Eat small frequent meals and get adequate sleep Listen to good music Early pregnancy scan at 8 weeks to confirm that pregnancy is inside the uterus and is viable 1 out of 6 pregnancies end in first-trimester miscarriage, and thus make sure to report any pain, spotting, or bleeding Ectopic pregnancy needs early identification and treatment since it is a life-threatening problem More than 2 early pregnancy losses need complete evaluation and treatment ❏ ❏ ❏ ❏ ❏ ❏ ❏

  6. First-Trimester Screening Mandatory screening test must be done, which involves scan and blood test for DOWNS SYNDROME. This must be followed by counselling regarding the test and the implications of a positive screen. II Trimester Be active and do safe car driving with seatbelt below the bump Anomaly scan at 19-20 weeks, dentist visit at 20 weeks, and monthly obstetrician visit Periodic blood tests for diabetes, anaemia, and preeclampsia ❏ ❏ ❏ III Trimester Frequent doctor visits with regular BP and weight measurements Scan for baby's growth and discuss pain relief strategies Decide on a place for delivery and familiarize yourself with the process of labour and delivery ❏ ❏ ❏

After Delivery Normal diet and plenty of liquids Maintain cleanliness and hygiene Exclusive breastfeeding for six months, and breast milk can be given upto 2 years Learn more about lactation latching and avoid breast engorgement and nipple cracks The menstrual cycle can get irregular or periods can be non-existent for some during the lactation period Continue iron and calcium for 6 months If caesarean-delivered, avoid lifting weights for 2 months Regular monitoring of BP and sugar since pregnancy can be the forerunner of long-term medical problems Resume normal activity with regular paediatric visits and gyn visits Monitor vaccination, milestones assessments, and growth charts for the baby ❏ ❏ ❏ ❏ ❏ ❏ ❏ ❏ ❏ ❏
