  1. News Review Global warming ups risk of floods As temperature rise, so will risk of extreme floods in Asia, Africa: Scientist. Prepared by Rachel Wong Jing Wen (12) June 27, 2013

  2. The BIG NEWs • Global warming in China, East Africa, India, South-east Asia and the Northern Andes are at a higher risk of extreme floods. • The study’s estimates are based on 11 models of greenhouse gas emissions and their impact on 29 river basins by 2100. • Global carbon dioxide emission rose by 1.4 per cent to 31.6 billion tonnes last year, with China the biggest emitter and making the largest contribution to rise. • IEA urged governments to quickly adopt four policies to ensure climate goals could be reached without harming economic growth.

  3. Improving energy efficiency in buildings and transport Limiting the use of inefficient power plants’ Halving methane emissions Partially phasing out fossil oil The Four Policies

  4. My thoughts I feel that Global warming is caused by human’s action. Cutting down trees polluting the water with human waste and factories’ toxic. All of these can be prevented if only people would consider plant Earth. We can reuse and recycle paper instead of cutting down more trees to make paper for human usage.

  5. Glossary • methane -- a gas that you cannot see or smell, which can be burned to give heat
