  2. God’s Own capital Kollam is a land of enchanting features. Because of this, it is also known as Quilon or Desinganadu. The scenic beauty of the land is eye catching. Most tourists are greatly attracted by its beautiful backwater, sea, lakes, rivers and streams. It was enough to let it be considered as the dreamland of Kerala and be called as the God’s Own capital. Kollam is also known for having the largest spice market in Kerala. Furthermore, it holds the credit for cashew nut trading which is the major source of income of its people. The largest part of Kollam is covered with Ashtamudi Lake which forms the Kollam backwaters. From there, several luxury resorts in Kollam which are attractive and elegant in service are established.
