  6. MultiMediaCards (MMC)can be read-only, or read-writable, a great way to distribute data and programs. Secure Digital Cards (SD)transfer data at a fast 10MB per second, support a standard mode of operation, and are guaranteed to be interoperable with other SD devices.   7. To insert a card, push itgentlyinto the expansion slot The handheld “chirps” when the card is fully inserted To eject a card, push it slightly back into the slot WARNING !!! Never PULL a card out. This could severely damage your handheld. © 2006 Palm, Inc.

  8. When working with expansion cards you use two applications Card Info Launcher © 2006 Palm, Inc.

  9. Use Card Info to work with the entire card • See general info • Card name • ID number • Amount of free space • Rename a card • Format a card © 2006 Palm, Inc.

  10. View the general informationfor a typical expansion card Card name, type, and size Tap Card Info Scroll to bottom to see the unique ID number © 2006 Palm, Inc.

Use Launcher to copy them from the handheld There are at least two ways* to put files onto an expansion card Install them directly onto the card during a HotSync® synchronization * Copy files from your desktop PC to the correct folder on the card using an expansion card reader © 2006 Palm, Inc.

  17. Use Launcher to copy filesbetween the handheld and a card Switch to card, if necessary Select Copy… Tap file name… Tap Copy By default, an application's data files are also copied. Tap Settings… to change this setting. © 2006 Palm, Inc.
