Purpose of the CHIPP R&D Workshop Overview of detector R&D efforts and plans Input for CHIPP, so that it can help with the realization Identify priorities, at the national level but in the international context Encourage collaboration Schedule is influenced by my prejudice: Detector R&D is not generic, but driven by specific physics programs and their requirements Organize by project, not by detector type Today: R&D for collider detectors Tomorrow: R&D for neutrino, non-accelerator and applied particle physics projects
