  2. Condescend Part of speech: Verb Definition: to show that you believe you are more intelligent or better than other people; to talk down to She was talking to me in a condescending tone that I did not appreciate.

  7. Wrought Part of speech: adjective Definition: carefully formed or worked into shape Monday, I collected the carefully wrought essays.

  8. Arbitrate Part of speech: verb Definition: to settle an argument between two people or groups after hearing the opinions and ideas of both She will arbitrate the dispute.
