  2. The Present Continuous • We use the present continuous when we talk about something happening at the time of speaking. He is talking on the phone now. They are walking home at the moment.

  3. The Present Continuous • We use the present continuous to describe situations or actions which are in progress for a limited period. She is studying for the English test this week.

  4. The Present Progressive Use Verb To Be in the present simple (am-is-are) +a verb with–ing. I am sleep ing. are You driv ing. is He talk ing. She read ing. is It eat ing. is We are exercis ing. are danc ing. They

  5. Negative Statements For negative statements, you can use “not.” I am not work ing. not play ing. You are He is not talk ing. is not read ing. She is It not eat ing. We are not exercis ing. are not They teach ing.

  6. Negative Statements For negative statements, you can also use contractions. ‘m not I work ing. aren’t You play ing. isn’t He talk ing. isn’t read ing. She isn’t It eat ing. aren’t We exercis ing. aren’t They teach ing.

  15. Change to -y • When a verb ends in –ie, drop the –e and change the –i to –y. die dying lie lying tie tying
