INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON BIOMEDICAL INFORMATICS • 25-27th of June in Barcelona • Coorganised by Infobiomed and Semantic Mining (SM) • In collaboration with ACGT and EURESIST • Doctoral school on the 25th of June, coordinated by SM • Approach: the event will be divided in 2 main blocks: • Doctoral School with the aim of providing pre-doctoral students a forum to present their research projects and receive constructive background from experts and fellows (25th June). • BMI Conference which aims to offer an overview of the networks’ results as well as the hot topics in the field (25-26-27 June).

Biocomputation and knowledge management in drug discovery and development • Topic C. Multi-scale modelling and simulation. • Topic D. Data and knowledge mining in biomedical research. • Topic E. Standards and ontologies in biomedical informatics. • Topic F. Case studies of biomedical informatics applications.

  6. INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON BIOMEDICAL INFORMATICS Organisation of the symposium - Target audience: 150 attendants - No registration fee. Collaborating projects speakers and attendants will cover their expenses from their respective budgets in the projects. - The organising committee will search external funding opportunities/sponsors to cover for the rest of the expenses. Issues - Attendance of Commission representatives, due to coincidence with evaluation period.
