History in Brief • First Power Plant : Pharping Power Plant • 100 Years • No significant progress till the 8th Five Year Plan • Trishuli, devighat, Sunkoshi , Seti, Phewa, Panauti, Kl I • Comparatively Real progress made during 9th Five Year Plan, (2049 - 2054) • GOV : Kaligandaki, Marsyangdi, Puwa, Lower Modi, • Private : Khimti, Bhotekoshi, Indrawati • PPP : Chilime • Hydropower policy and Act 2049 • Hopeful era between 2050 to 2060

History… • Tenth V year plan 2059- 2064 • Few small Hydro only, No significant development • Interim 3 year Plan 2064/65 - 2067/68 • Interest in Hydropower increased significantly • Lot of license applied and issued • Gov. initiative raised: • Electricity crisis mitigation Program : 38 points • 10000 MW in 10 years • 25000 MW in 20 Years • PPA progress , but rate not sufficient , no transmission progress projects are reluctant
