  1. A monthly Guide Advisors Checklist

  2. Volunteer to help with beginning school activities (e.g., orientation) • Plan membership drive, set a regular meeting time and place, as well as a method of communication between members • First club meeting – begin dues collection for returning members • Submit Key Club field trip forms if required and put in club calendar to avoid conflicts • Focus on fundraising for DCON • Make any contact corrections needed with the division Lt. Governor and local Kiwanis club • Request of Kiwanis funds for their next year’s budget • hold a board meeting with officers to map out service projects and establish a routine for the club’s regular meetings August

  3. By 5th of the month, have club secretary submit monthly report on activity that occurred in the previous month • Make plans to attend the divisional rally • Update the current year’s Officer Information Form (OIF) (Secretary) • Order club shirts • Plan for UNICEF project • Review back to school mailing from Key Club International • Plan ways to support Governor’s Project • Faculty Advisor receives dues password from KCI to school address • By 30th complete membership drive and collect dues September

By 5th of September—remember, the monthly reports detail the activities of the previous month– club secretary report is due • Check dates for Divisional rally • Update the current year’s Officer Information Form (OIF) (Secretary) • Trick of Treat for UNICEF • Plan projects and activities for Key Club Week at beginning of November • By 31th have the club treasurer update membership at the Membership Update Center, prints invoice, and puts check in mail for early bird dues or arrange for online payment • Make sure the club’s yearbook picture is scheduled and that the club secretary is assigning a photographer to club projects October

By the 5th of October, club report is due (Secretary) • Check Division Rally dates • Update the current year’s Officer Information Form (OIF) (Secretary) • Host Key Club Week • Plan induction ceremony for new members for December • Send in money for Trick or Treat for UNICEF • By 30th, if not done in October, Treasurer updates membership at the Membership Update Center, prints invoices, and submits dues check to Key Club International • Begin planning Christmas social and/or events November

  6. By the 5th of November the club report is due (Secretary) • Update the current year’s Officer Information Form (OIF) (Secretary) • Host induction ceremony for new members for December • Conduct Christmas projects and/or social • Have club officers rate their performance for the first half of the year • Schedule an extended board meeting to plan the second half of the year •  Participate in Kiwanis Christmas auctions or service projects December

  7. By the 5th of January, the December report is due (Secretary) • Begin making plans for officer elections to be held in February • Hold an extended board meeting to plan for spring activities • Complete fundraisers for DCON • Begin discussing DCON attendance • Check with school officials concerning permission slips and chaperones for NOT and DCON • Print off competition forms for students interested in competing in individual events at DCON • Make plans to attend N.O.T (New Officer Training) • Check LAMISSTENN Key Club website for online registration forms for NOT and DCON January

By the 5th of February, the January report is due (Secretary) • By 28th elections for new officers must be completed • Make sure registration and hotel registration for NOT is complete • Distribute permission forms and medical forms to students attending NOT • New officers shadow current officers and learn position • Complete the next year’s Officer Information Form (OIF) (Secretary) • Check with students preparing for individual DCON competitions • Begin planning installation an awards ceremony • Online Registration for DCON • Clubs that have not paid dues are suspended and ineligible to attend DCON February

  9. By the 5th of March, the February report is due (Secretary) • Send in dues for any new members joining this semester • Collect permission slips and medical forms for NOT. Finalize travel plans • Complete DCON registration and send in money • Complete next year’s OIF form (Secretary) • Elect two members to attend district conference as delegates • Complete award and scholarship applications • Distribute permission forms and medical forms for DCON. Finalize travel plans for DCON • Complete Annual Achievement Report March

By the 5th of April, the March, report is due (Secretary) • Complete/Update the current year’s Officer Information Form (OIF) (Secretary) • Attend district conference—have fun!!!!!!!!! • Order pins, certificates, etc. for officer installations next month and plan for event • Check LAMISSTENN website for information on ICON • Order any graduation or end of the year recognition material April

  11. By the 5th of May, the April the report is due (Secretary) • Complete/Update the current year’s Officer Information Form (OIF) (Secretary) • Raise money for ICON (send at least 2 members). Check with LAMISSTENN website for registration and travel information • Attend Kiwanis meeting and report on DCON (President) • Arrange for Lt. Governor to install new officers (President) • Attend any training session set up by Lt. Governor (Officers) • Assist President, if needed, in creating committees and assigning committee chairs • Hold installations and awards ceremony • Begin planning for summer projects and board meetings May

  12. By the 5th of June, the May report is due (Secretary) • Complete/Update the current year’s Officer Information Form (OIF) (Secretary) • Club officers should set up summer officer/board meetings to plan membership drive and projects during first part of the school year • Attend ICON • Attend Kiwanis meetings (officers, members, advisor) • Plan and conduct some service or other activities over summer • Plan ways to work with K-Kids, Builders, CKI, Aktion, Kiwanis • In this month or next, Kiwanis President and advisors meet with principal June and July
