  3. How will climographs help? A CLIMOGRAPH shows the following information for a particular location: latitude & longitude; elevation; mean (average) monthly temperature in °C or °F; and mean (average) precipitation in centimeters or inches.

  4. DIRECTIONS: Read the clues on the screen. Match the Locations to one of the 14 Climographs your group has. Show your Location guesses to your teacher. Keep all clue slips safe.

  5. Location #1 • June, July, and August appear to be the driest months. • The elevation of this city is just above sea level. • This Northern Hemisphere city lies 12.5° from the Prime Meridian. • January and February temperatures fall below 10° C.

  6. Location #2 • The elevation of this city exceeds 500 m. • Four months out of the year show little or no precipitation. • Its coolest months are June, July, and August. • Its latitude is south of the Tropic of Capricorn.

  7. Location 3 • This Northern Hemisphere city is located just south of the 38th Parallel. • Its elevation is below 50 m. • October through March temperatures may fall below 20° C. • June through September provide the warmest temperatures.
