Managing interest rate risk • A firm may be exposed to either or both of two forms of interest rate risk: • The risk of borrowing and lending in the short-term markets, which itself may be divided into: • The risk of rates changing from the time a loan is anticipated until it is actually taken out • The risk associated with changes in interest rates once a loan is taken out • The risk associated with managing a bond portfolio

It could hedge this by shorting ZYK and buying the index.

These returns are supposed to offset, but they are not likely to do so, certainly not with any accuracy. The return on the DJ Euro 50 does not present any tracking error concerns.
