  1. What You Need for Karwa Chauth Thali Karwa Chauth is a special day, observed in North India to celebrate the love and devotion between a husband and wife. The wife is required to fast from sunrise to moonrise to pray for the health and happiness of their husband. But the fast isn’t the only thingthat’s important in this festival. The karwa chauth thali for sargi as well as pooja at the end of the fast at moonrise holds special significance and meaning. Let us help you with everything you need to put on your perfect karwa chauth thali for pooja. Metal thali – Get a steel one or any other metal thali and decorate it with flowers, sparkles or paint. You can choose vibrant colours and delicate designs to make it more beautiful.

  2. Fresh and dry fruits – Fruits and nuts are essential for the pooja thali. Make sure to include good quality almonds, cashews and pistachios in the thali along with fresh fruits. Sweets –Indian sweets are a staple for auspicious occasions. Also, you can’t go wrong with barfi! Pitcher of water –Fill the ‘karwa’ or the pitcher with clean water and tie a mouli thread around its neck. You can also decorate the pitcher with colours and mirrors if you wish. Diya – Place an earthen lamp or diya with ghee, to be used in the pooja. Flowers – You need flowers for decoration as well as worship. Red and white flowers will be perfect for karwa chauth. Sindoor (Kumkum) and saree – Kumkum and a saree is a must on your pooja thali, to gift it to your mother-in-law after the pooja ceremony. Chalni – Finally, you need a sieve to see the moon as a part of your karwa chauth festivities.
