  1. Successful mindsets to rise to the top - Kartik Naidu Success is the art of converting the invisible When we see successful people around us or the ones we aspire to become, we often overlook their struggles. We fail to analyze the hardships they have faced both- personally and professionally and focus mostly on their materialistic achievements. Success is the art of making an invisible idea into a fully functioning visible model. Aiming towards tangible and material achievements and achieving them is not and should not be the idea of being successful. Success should rather reflect one’s peace of mind and accomplishment(s) that aren’t only ‘material’ but ‘spiritual’ as well. Kartik Naidu For a person to be truly successful, mindset is integral. Success is a by-product of our thoughts and emotion which convert into our action. How we channelize our talents and abilities is one factor that reflects our mindset. Whether it is pursuing success in your career, starting your own business, or dealing with your personal problems/traumas/relationships, aligning your mindset with your actions is important. Many of us have attended Ted Talks and/or heard motivational speakers. We have also witnessed the success stories of the most famous personalities/celebrities. So, what is common in all of them and the stories of their journey? Failure is just one. I have had the chance of working very closely with many successful people and upon reviewing their life in great detail, they have had a few things in common- perseverance, discipline, determination, and the ability to keep their emotions positive. These are a few aspects amidst the worst odds that I train people for. To be successful, you need to develop the inner core of a person who is successful in terms of their personality. A growth mindset is another key factor, and growth is not just vertical it is also horizontal. When you focus on creating a personality that is not just objective but also empathic and grateful, it does something amazing with our brain. It releases dopamine and serotonin at a very high level, which in turn enables our brain to push harder, work longer, and keep high energy levels. These tools are proven to be very resourceful in building a strong mindset. Kartik Naidu We often forget the fact that all human beings fail, at one thing or another. It does not mean that we’re not worth it or we aren’t talented enough. It rather means that we need to put in more hard work and effort. Embracing your failures and rejections is the key to success. From the likes of Oprah to Mark Zuckerberg, all of them have failed and/or faced rejection. They definitely did feel depressed, yet they came out of it and worked harder by embracing their failures and rejections. Another key ingredient to being successful is to keep learning. Keep on increasing your skillset. New habits, new methods, new approaches, new knowledge. You start learning as soon as you’re born. From learning to breathe as soon as you’re born to learning to survive with illnesses- everything is a learning process. You never stop learning, and you can never learn enough. That is what life is all about. Your willingness to keep learning and improving is considered a characteristic of a successful person.

  2. One other important trait of a successful person is being open to judgment and feedback. Always be the last person to speak in the room, this way you will be able to receive everyone’s opinion. People who want to grow- personally and professionally seek feedback. Once you understand that you are responsible for your own growth, you will have the confidence to seek feedback and learn and grow from it. Kartik Naidu The more effort you put in, the better are the results are an old phenomenon, focus your attention on increasing your productive time rather than your working hours. Have a clear-cut goal- short term, midterm, and long term. If you don’t know where you are going how will you ever get there? If you get behind the steering wheel of your car without knowing the destination, how will you ever get there? Supplemented by a road map, it should also include the possible obstacles and the new skillset you may need to acquire to get there. If that cannot be acquired then be prepared to hire that skillset. Push yourself a little bit more towards improvement. Every day in every way, you must become better and better. This will not only help you achieve what you desire but will also help you grow internally- spiritually and mentally. The most important aspect of being successful is being self-positive. Sometimes we can be our own worst enemies. It is thus important to be conscious of how we deal with ourselves. The more optimistic your outlook is, the more positive thoughts you have. In this competition-driven world, everybody might not support you and maybe demean/demotivate you. You have to learn not to take any of that personally. Instead, try functioning in a way that you encourage, compliment, and reward your own self. For every small achievement, be aware that others might not witness it. Rather, since it is your goal is your destination, be aware that you’re getting closer to what you desire and be proud of it. This will help you clear your mind and help you measure your own growth and peace of mind. Kartik Naidu Source: Successful mindsets to rise to the top - Kartik Naidu
