Polar Plunge • The Polar Plunge is a fundraiser for the Special Olympics. • It happens to be Virginia’s largest Special Olympic fundraiser as well. • Teams, Schools,individuals and thousands of others come together in the middle of winter to take a plunge in the freezing Virginia Beach ocean to raise money and awareness. • If you can not do the Plunge into the water, that does not mean you can not come out for the support. Thousands more will come out strictly for the support and donate whatever they can to this great cause.

My Experience • Having had the opportunity to participate in the Polar Plunge last year has really influenced me in a special way • Seeing kids who are not as fortunate as I am, kids who have to play basketball while in a wheel chair, is something that I will always remember and always support when I have the opportunity. • Last year, along with 27 of my other fellow classmates, we all decided to plunge into the ocean to raise money for the special cause. • Having a great turn out of a total of 30+ students and faculty, we rose the most money from all the high schools!
