Key facts of Link Up • 3 year multi-country $43.8m project reaching 1,001,250 young people • Funded by Dutch Foreign Ministry - BUZA • 5 countries – Uganda, Burundi, Ethiopia, Myanmar, Bangladesh • Improving the SRHR of young people affected by HIV: those living with HIV, MSM, young sex workers and children exploited for sex

Link Up Consortium – Global Level • AIDS Alliance: Lead organisation • MSI: SRH service delivery and commodity procurement in Bangladesh, Myanmar & Uganda • Stop AIDS Now!, Athena Network and Global Youth Coalition on AIDS: global policy partners • Population Council: external evaluation and operations research

Link Up Collaborating partners – global UNFPA • Technical review of resources and tools developed in Link Up • Draw upon UNFPA procurement systems • Link with Y-peer programme • Use of UNFPA tools and resources UNESCO • Technical review of tools and resources developed on sexuality education • Have synergies with New Gen programme • Support for collaborations with Ministries of Education AIDS Fonds • Working relationship with Bridging the Gaps programme

Link Up Consortium – National Level • Implemented by 5 Linking Organisations & their implementing partners • HASAB in Bangladesh, ABS in Burundi, OSSA in Ethiopia, Alliance Myanmar in Myanmar and Community Action on Health in Uganda • MSI: SRH service delivery and commodity procurement in Bangladesh, Myanmar & Uganda • Population Council: evaluation in 5 countries and OR in Uganda and Bangladesh

  7. Key Goals, Outcomes and Targets

  8. Goal: To contribute to reduced unintended pregnancies, HIV transmission and HIV-related maternal mortality amongst young people affected by HIV (aged 10-24). Purpose: To increase health seeking behaviours and uptake of quality integrated maternal health, family planning and HIV information, services and commodities amongst young people affected by HIV and uphold their sexual and reproductive rights in generalised epidemics in Burundi, Ethiopia, Uganda, and in concentrated epidemics in Bangladesh and Burma.

  11. Outcomes: Outcome 1:6% increase in the number of young people affected by HIV, who are better informed and empowered to make healthier choicesin relation to their sexuality in project sites. Outcome 2:6% increase in the number of young people affected by HIV who access and take up integrated SRH/HIV services, anti-retroviral drugs, contraceptives and other commodities in project sites. Outcome 3:90% of public and private service providers and CSOs working in project sites demonstrate increased capacity and deliver improved SRH/HIV services. Outcome 4:In at least 3 countries (and globally) more policies and processes recognise the sexual and reproductive rights of young people affected by HIV.

Targets: • Outcome 1: Increase the capacity and knowledge of 1,001,250 young people to make healthier choices about their sexuality • Outcome 2: Support 862 service providers to promote and distribute SRH and HIV services and commodities. • Outcome 3: MSI and IHAA contribute to improving service quality among 862 service providers by addressing the need for user friendly, appropriate SRH services • Outcome 4: in at least 3 countries (and globally) more policies and processes recognize the sexual and reproductive rights of young people affected by HIV aged 10-24.
