God’s Plan For Shepherds • The Problem: God Has Planned For Local Elders In His Church, Yet We Still Don’t Have Them. • Acts 14:23, Philippians 1:1 • The Solution: God Has Described Who To Seek. • Acts, 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, 1 Peter 5, Hebrews 13 • The Reason To Act: Because Elders Are God’s Plan, Everything Else Will Always Fall Short. • The Reason To Act Now: As A Church, We Have Everything We Need To Equip Men As Shepherds. • Willing Men, Time To Partner With Them, Mutual Love & Support For One Another

Looking For Shepherds • Every Man Must Consider Matthew 9:36 • Look Around You: “Seeing the people, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dispirited like sheep without a shepherd.” • Every Member Must Consider God’s Plan • Look For Men Like Jesus: Men with a quality mind and character which naturally manifest itself in their life. • Don’t Look For A Substitute: God’s plan meets the needs of the church better than any other plan. • Every Minister Must Consider His Responsibility • Look At The Proper Role: Titus 1:5

Good Shepherds Are… • Men Who Desires Both The Office & The Work. • 1 Timothy 3:1 • “Above Reproach” (KJV: Blameless) • “Husband of One Wife” • Literally: A One Woman Man, Devoted & Faithful • Husband: He Is Married • One: More Than 0 Less Than 2 • Context: 1 Timothy 5:9 A One Man Woman • “Temperate” (KJV: Vigilant) • Clear Thinking & Watchful; An acute perception of what is dangerous or potentially dangerous. • Called To Exercise This In: Acts 20:28, Heb. 13:17

Good Shepherds Are… • Prudent (KJV: Sober) • Able to think a matter through clearly • Free from Un-Biblical Influences in his decision making. • Learned Throughout Life: Titus 2:2,5 • Respectable (KJV: Good Behavior) • A Gentleman: Mannerly, Modest, Orderly • Able to Act With Both Boldness & Dignity • Can Be Seen In All Areas Of His Life
