  2. 1. -3 - (-2) = -3 + (+2) =-1 • 2. -4 - (2)= -4 + (-2)= -6

  3. 3. Change the minus to a plus and change the next sign. Then, add same signed #’s and subtract different signed #’s, and answer takes the sign of the larger absolute value.

  4. -5 – 7=-5 + (-7)=-12 • -8-(-3)=-8+(+3)=-5 • -8- 3=-8+(-3)=-11 • 6-(-14)=6+(+14)=20 • 12-16=12+(-16)=-4 • 9-(-7)=9+(+7)=16
