  2. Locked RooM Mystery • A sub-genre of a detective fiction. • A crime, usually a murder is committed under impossible circumstances. • The crime takes place in a setting where the Victim or victims could not have left.

  3. Cozy Mystery • This mystery almost always involves an amateur sleuth. • It contains a bloodless crime and doesn’t contain a lot of violence. • At the end of the story the convict is caught and punished.

  4. Hard Boiled • In this story there is usually a professional sleuth. • He or she attacks the case with violence and skill.

  5. Police Procedural • The sleuth in this story is usually someone that has to do with law enforcement. • They solve the case with police techniques

  6. What is ATTWN? • In my opinion, “And Then There Were None” is a locked room mystery. • It takes place on an Island where the victims can’t escape. • It is impossible to solve without Wargrave’s letter at the end of the book.
