  2. Mandy The woman who donated Mandy to the museum told staff that she would wake up in the middle of the night hearing a baby crying from the basement. Later she informed them that after the doll was given to the museum, she no longer heard the sound of a baby crying in the night. Mandy was placed alone in a display case because the staff had been told that she shouldn’t be placed with other dolls because she would harm them.

  3. Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia, PA. is widely believed to have caused mental illness among its prisoners. The prison is famous for its disembodied laughter, and on some nights one guard tower appears to be occupied by a shadowy figure.

  4. SagamoreHotel This hotel in Bolton Landing, New York, is said to be the exclusive haunted home to several lost spirits, including a little ghost boy who walks around the golf course. Many golfers say that he steals their golf balls and flings them at them from behind a tree.

  6. EdinburghCastle Shadowy figures, sudden drops in temperature, and the feeling of something tugging on your clothes are all everyday experiences in Edinburgh Castle.

  7. Blair Witch Project In Burkittsville, Maryland, three student filmmakers disappeared while trying to make a film on the legend known as the Blair Witch. They never came back. Neither the students nor their bodies were ever found, although their video and sound equipment (along with most of the footage they shot) were discovered a year later.

  8. Salem Witch Trials The Trials ultimately resulted in the death by hanging of 19 men and women. One man (Giles Corey) was crushed to death, but he left a curse in the town of Salem, and whenever a tragedy befalls Salem, people claim to see Giles Corey’s ghost soon after .

  9. White Rock Lake In Dallas In the 1920s, a girl was on her way home when she decided to cross the spillway to save time. Halfway across, she slipped into the water and drowned. It is said that she hitchhikes in the area.

  10. Whaley House in San Diego Ghostly lights turn on and off in the Whaley house. Footsteps heard on the second floor when no one is up there, burglar alarms going off and on by themselves, windows opening wide, as well as the icy feeling of someone walking through you, are regular occurrences in the Whaley House.

  11. While driving across railroad tracks, a bus full of kids broke down. The driver told the children to get out and push the bus across the tracks; they were struck by a train. If you drive to the site and put baby powder on the bumper of your car, place the car in neutral, it will be pushed over the tracks, and you will see fingerprints left on the vehicle’s bumper.   12. A young couple was driving across the bridge while in a heated argument. The girl became so angry that she opened the door and jumped out of the car, falling to her death. She let out a primal scream you can still hear when you drive over the bridge. Maud Hughes Road Westchester, Ohio

  13. Lake Tahoma Dam A teenage girl, who wasn’t able to deal with her pregnancy, jumped from the dam to her death. If you go to the dam and place your car keys on the hood of the car, and walk around it, when you return, the keys will have disappeared.

  14. Weeping Lady A woman, described as having pointed fingernails and long black hair, begs motorists for a ride to the Calumet River, and upon arrival there, she suddenly vanishes. It is believed that she drowned her two children in this river.

  16. Manchester House The house is reportedly built on a ancient Indian Burial site. In the house lived a family who was killed by the oldest son. People claim that he might have been influenced by a paranormal force. After the tragedy, a new family of five moved in. A few days later, the daughter befriended an invisible red-eyed pig named Jodie. After 28 days of being in the house, the family could take no more, and left their house and all their belongings behind.

  17. The Bailey House A woman killed her entire family and then hanged herself in the basement. A group reports that when they were touring the house, a boarded up window in the downstairs suddenly cracked. A cool breeze followed them around the house and then stains of blood began to appear in the room.

  19. Sudbury House In this house, a family claimed that the doors would open violently and slam closed on their own. This would happen four or five times, as if two invisible people were fighting. The doors slammed back and forth very fast for about 10 seconds.

  20. James A. Garfield House Security guards have reported hearing Garfield’s wife walking upstairs at night. She is said to turn lights on after the guards have turned them off. While renovating the inside of the house, workers tended to leave the room in which they were working a mess. The next morning, everything would be neatly in place.

  21. Lizzie Borden’s House The Poem: Lizzie Borden took an Ax, and gave her Mother 40 whacks. When she saw what she had done, she gave her Father 41. Lizzie Borden’s house is now a bed and breakfast, and many guests there have reported some type of unsettling experience.

  23. Tamworth Castle The castle is reported to be haunted by a lady who threw herself off the battlements and fell to her death, after learning that her lover had been killed. She is said to be seen wringing her hands and walking about the battlements at night.

  24. Hampton Court Anne, the 2nd wife of King Henry VIII, was beheaded in May of 1536. Her ghost is said to draw up to the door of the stately home in a carriage pulled by headless horses, and driven by a headless coachman.

  25. Ten Bells Pub Commercial St. E 1 Staff and guests staying on the upper floor complain of alarming encounters with a ghostly old man dressed in Victorian clothing. They would often be awoken by an uneasy feeling in the dead of night, and turning over, would find his phantom form lying beside them on the bed!!

  26. Westminster Bridge. SW1 In London On December 31, people claim to see the ghost of one of London’s most enigmatic criminals. A shadowy figure will suddenly appear on the bridge and leap headlong into the murky waters. This is where Jack the Ripper killed himself by plunging into the river from this bridge.

  27. Keyhole State Park In Wyoming Many years ago, after being kidnapped and tortured, a man was murdered and thrown into the nearby river. People have reported seeing a misty figure lurking around the river every night.

  28. Alcatraz Alcatraz was a prison built on a secluded island. Sounds of men’s voices, clanging metal doors, and terrifying screams are said to be heard within these historic walls. The cries, heard by not only the warden, but also by guests, were described as coming from inside the walls of the prison.
