  2. CANSA’S STRATEGIC GOAL • To establish a unique service proposition by • Optimising our leadership role in cancer research • Utilising health education in the fight against cancer • Providing support through strengthened Health Programmes

CANSA’S STRATEGIC GOAL • To achieve this we need to • Adhere to internationally accepted best practice in governance and management. • Enhance and influence the image of CANSA • Be a sustainable organisation • Optimise our human capital • Ensure active volunteer engagement • Optimise use of technology

WE OFFER AND PROVIDE… • To all communities-A message of hope and an opportunity to get involved in the fight against cancer by providing access to information and education. • To all Survivors and those affected by cancer - Solidarity, support and care as well as a sense of belonging by honouring, empowering and giving them a platform to spread their message of hope as champions in CANSA’s programmes and projects

WE OFFER AND PROVIDE… • To all Volunteers - Education with regards to the cancer challenge and enable them to get involved and take ownership in the fight against cancer by  sharing their resources and their talents in their own communities • To Partners- An opportunity to achieve their goals in respect of their social responsibility thereby enhancing  their image and credibility in the market through sponsorships, partnerships and publicity as partners of  CANSA

  6. WE OFFER AND PROVIDE… • To Staff - An opportunity for learning and growth, thereby using their talents, passions and competencies to make a difference in communities in the fight against cancer

CALENDAR 2011 • January – SunSmart and Environment • February – SunSmart and Environment, World Cancer Day 4 February - UICC Declaration plus CANSA Head Office Golf Day • March – Balanced Lifestyle, CANSA Shavathon 3 – 6 March • April– Balanced Lifestyle • May – Anti-Tobacco, World No Tobacco Day - 31 May • June – CANSA on the Move for the Youth, International Survivors Day - 5 June , Youth Day – 16 June, Cuppa For CANSA launch

CALENDAR 2011 • July - CANSA on the Move for the Youth • August – National CANSA Week 1 – 7 August, Women’s Day 9 August • September – Women’s Health International Gynaecological Health Day 10 September plus CEO’s Gala Dinner, 80 years car prize draw 30 September • October – Women’s Health, National Breast Cancer Day - 7 October, Sanlam Cancer Challenge 23 – 25 October • November – Men’s Health, Movember in aid of CANSA • December - SunSmart and Environment, International Volunteers Day – 5 December

CANSA’s role in the fight against cancer • 2010 has highlighted CANSA as a leading non-profit in its field.  • CANSA rated as one of South Africa’s most trusted and admired NGOs (Non-Governmental Organisation) operating in the country by 2010 Ask Afrika Trust Barometer • CANSA was awarded the 2009 ‘World No Tobacco Day’ Achievement award presented by World Health organization (WHO) in recognition of CANSA’s accomplishments in the fight against tobacco use • Also awarded the 2010 South African NGO Web Award by South African NGO Network (SANGONeT)

CANSA’s role in the fight against cancer • Other awards include: • CANSA West Gauteng received the Roodepoort Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ROCCI) ‘2010 Community Support Organisation’, as well as the Silver ‘Lady Rocci Community Service’ awards. • CANSA’s Tough Living with Cancer (TLC) Nicus Lodge was awarded the 2010 ‘Excellence in Service Delivery Award' presented by the Steve Biko Academic Hospital
