  1. P ROCESS SPC C ONTROL S TATISTICAL TRAINING PROPOSAL

  2. SPC INTRODUCTION The need to have a capable and stable process is increasing as specifications and customers’ requirements are getting more stringent and demanding. The importance of Statistical Process Control and understanding the application of different techniques is key to Continual Improvement. This is also includes process capability study and step by step approach towards this direction. COURSE DURATION This is 2 days highly interactive, entertaining and useful course running from 09.00 am to 05.00pm WHO SHOULD ATTEND • Managers,Engineers,Supervisors,Leaders and staff involved with SPC

  3. SPC COURSE OBJECTIVE At the end of this course, participants will be able to : Understand the basic statistical concepts. Determine process/critical process parameter. Identify common and assignable variation. Plot and analyze controls charts. Compute control limits and process capability index. Monitor process drift. METHODOLOGY • Lectures • Exercises • Case Studies • Group Discussions

  4. COURSE OUTLINE DAY 1 Module 1 : Introduction to SPC Definition of SPC Historical background Module 2 : SPC Objectives and advantages Why SPC is important? What is the Return on Investment (ROI) Benefits of SPC Module 3 : Fundamentals Of SPC Prevention vs. detection mentality Precision vs. accuracy Loss of function (East vs. West) Cost of Quality Concept of variation.

  5. SPC COURSE OUTLINE • Module 4 : Basic Statistic • Discrete vs. continuous data • Population vs. samples. • Descriptive statistics. • Frequently distribution • Histogram • Measure of location – mean, median, mode • Measure of spread – Standard deviation, • Variance, Range • Module 5 : Process Control • Concept of Control • Process as a black box • Process Baseline • Processes benchmark • Process drift and shift • Process control system. DAY 1

  6. SPC COURSE OUTLINE DAY 2 Module 6 : Control Charts Overview on control charts Variable control charts Attribute control charts Recognizing abnormal trend. Module 7 : Process Capability Analysis What is process capability? Process capability indices. Short and long term analysis. Improving process capability. 3 sigma process vs. 6 sigma process Module 8 : SPC Workshop
