  1. Hitler’s Three Most Important Men

  2. As leader of Nazi Germany, Adolph Hitler had thousands of followers and loyal men ready to do his bidding. But, there were three specific individuals that had the authority and the skills required in controlling every aspect of Nazi Germany.

  3. These men were known as… Joseph Goebbels Heinrich Himmler • Hermann Goering These men were in charge of the SS, the Luftwaffe, and Nazi Propaganda. Without their services, Hitler would not have survived long against his rivals and enemies.

  4. Heinrich Himmler Himmler was by far the most fearful man in all of Nazi Germany. This was due to the fact that he was the one who created the SS (Germany’s secret police and Hitler’s personal bodyguard).

  5. He oversaw all internal and external police and security forces throughout Nazi Germany. If anyone was suspected of treason against Hitler, then Himmler’s SS squads would take care of it efficiently, ruthlessly, and permanently.

  6. Himmler was also responsible for mass executions of Jews and non Aryans in the concentration camps. • The number of people killed under Himmler’s authority number more than 6,000,000 men, women, and children.

  7. Hermann Goering, AKA the Fat Nazi • Goering was a veteran of the First World War as an ace fighter pilot. Because of his skills as a fighter pilot and as one of the most popular Nazi members, Hitler promoted Goering to become the leader of the Luftwaffe (The German Air Force).

  8. Eventually,Hitler designated him as his successor and deputy in all his offices. • This meant, that after Hitler, the next leader of Nazi Germany would be Hermann Goering.

  9. Joseph Goebbels • Goebbels was the Minister of Propaganda in Nazi Germany and Hitler‘s most loyal follower. He was a master in all forms of propaganda techniques and was very effective in spreading Hitler’s message across Nazi Germany.

  10. As Minister of Nazi Propaganda, Goebbels made several films on anti-Semitism. He also used modern propaganda techniques (such as radio, films, and mass rallies) to psychologically prepare the German people for aggressive warfare. • Goebbels, was one of the few that remained with Hitler till the end.

  11. All three were very effective at what they did. And all three left their mark in history in carrying out Hitler’s goal for a Thousand Year Reich. Whether or not they succeeded is another story.
