Reviewing the balance of courses Discuss Is the balance of different types of courses appropriate for a new BA Education in English Language Arts that reflects the vision of the Teacher Education Strategy for Palestine? What should the balance among the different types of courses be? Why? Consider first and foremost the needs of the students. What are these needs; e.g. Language development? Other needs.
Reviewing the balance of courses Discuss In your groups, discuss and come up with a list of the courses that you think are needed to prepare a new generation of teachers of English for grades 5-10. Please consider… Should the focus of any existing course be adjusted? Should any new courses be added? What are they and why are they needed? Should any courses be deleted? What are they? And why may they not be appropriate for the new programme?
