PART 1 (3 minutes) • Theexaminerwillaskyoubothtotalkbrieflyaboutyourselfbyansweringquestionssuch as: • Where are youfrom? • What do youlikeabout living in yourtown? • Whatisthereforyoungpeopleto do in yourarea? • What do youliketo do in your free time? • Wouldyouliketoliveabroad? • What are yourplansforthefuture?

  3. PART 2 (3-4 minutes) • Each of youwilltalkaboutfor a minute withoutinterruption. • Youwilleachhavetwodifferentphotostotalkabout. Youmustcompare, contrast and speculate. • Youwillask a questiontoyourpartner.

  4. PART 2 • Each of thecandidateswillgive a briefdescription of eachphotograph. • Do not describe in detail (remember, one minute!) • Ifyou are notsureaboutwhattosay, try to use yourimagination! • Compare • Contrast • Speculate

  5. PART 2 • Whenyoufirstseethephotographsthinkwhytheexaminershavechosenthem. • Do notfocusonsmalldetails (e.g.physicalappearance, unlessitisimportantforthetopic) • Youcouldtalkgenerallyorconnectitwithyourownexperience.

  6. PART 3 (about 3 minutes) • Youwillbeaskedtodiscusstogetherwithoutinterruption. • Theexaminerwillgivesomethingto look at tohelpyou (a map, photographs, advertisements, etc). • Youhave a question and visual support. • Makesureyoubothknowwhatyoumusttalkabout. Ifnot, don’tbeafraidtoasktheexaminer. • Co-operativework, exchanginginformation, turn-taking.

  7. PART 4 (about 4 minutes) • Theexaminerwillaskyoubothtodiscusssome ideas connectedwithpart 3. He willaskyoubothtodevelopsomerelatedquestions. • Do notrepeatthesame ideas! • Express youropinion and/orcommentyourpartner’s ideas. • Co-operativediscussion, Turn-taking. • Equaltalking time. Encourageyourpartner (“What do youthinkaboutthat?”) • Agreeingordisagreeingwithyourpartner • Expressing “for” or “against” views
