  2. What is Trustworthiness? • Trustworthiness means being honest with others • Trustworthiness means keeping promises • Trustworthiness also means others can depend on you and trust you

  3. How can I be trustworthy? • A trustworthy person is someone you can count on to do what is right. • Being trustworthy means that you have earned the trust of other people

  4. How can I be trustworthy? • If you are trustworthy, you always do your very best to keep your promises. • Other people know they can count on you to do what you say you’ll do. • Being trustworthy means being dependable.

  5. How can I be trustworthy? • It is also important to know which people you can trust. • A trustworthy person is someone you can count on never to intentionally hurt you with unkind words or actions. • You can learn to tell which people to trust and which people not to trust.

  6. You can count on me! • Some people say that a trustworthy person can “be counted on”. • This means that you can be sure a trustworthy person will keep his word and do what he says. • By keeping promises and being a good friend, you can be a trustworthy person.

  7. Integrity: Having the courage to do what is right, not wrong

  8. Telling the Truth Integrity, integrity, tell the truth, that’s the key. Integrity, integrity, be the best you can be! When someone asks a question, answer honestly You’ll earn their trust, and you’ll have integrity! And if a friend is asking for answers to a test, Remember that it’s wrong to cheat. Honesty is the best. And if you have a job to do, do it carefully. Someone else depends on you. Show your integrity.

  9. How Good is Your Word? • You are the pitcher on a softball team and you have a game on Saturday. Your favorite uncle calls and wants to take you to an amusement park on Saturday at the same time as the game. • Choice #1 – You tell your uncle you can’t go and you go to the game • Choice #2 – You forget the game and go with your uncle

  10. How Good is Your Word? • You promise your mother you will do your homework right after school. A friend comes over and wants to ride bikes. • Choice #1 – You tell your friend no and do your homework. • Choice #2 – You don’t do your homework and ride bikes with your friend.

  11. How Good is Your Word? • Every Saturday morning at 10:00 o’clock, you walk your elderly neighbor’s dog. This Saturday there is a cartoon special on television at 10:00 that you really, really want to see • Choice #1 – You walk the dog and miss the special. • Choice #2 – You skip the dog walking so you can watch the special

  12. How Good is Your Word? • You promise you will play a game with your little sister after dinner. Your best friend calls and wants to talk. • Choice #1 – You tell your friend that you can’t talk and play with your sister. • Choice #2 – You tell your sister you want to talk with your friend.

  13. How Good is Your Word? • You told your piano teacher you would practice for 20 minutes every day. Usually you do your homework, practice piano and are allowed to watch your favorite show for 30 minutes before bedtime. Today you have so much homework, you finish just 30 minutes before bedtime • Choice #1 – You practice your music and skip your show. • Choice #2 – You watch television and skip practicing.

  15. Dare to Have Courage Dare to have courage. Do what’s right. Dare to be different. Avoid a fight. Follow your conscience not the crowd. Go after your goals, and make yourself proud.
