Statistics and Population Data Pilot Action will be implemented in the city of Trieste Trieste = 208.452 total population elderly rate (over 60) = 56.874 toal pop., 27,54% ageing index = 246,29 (n. older people for every 100 young people between 0 and 14 years) Another crucial data: 21.000 over65 people live alone (36% of the over65 population), and, among them, 13.353 are over75 (10.754 women and 2.599 men). This project is implemented through the CENTRAL EUROPE Programme co-financed by the ERDF

Montebello Project • Advanced integrated home-care in a new public social housing block (180 flats, opened in September 2012). • It is carried out by the Municipality of Trieste together with • Local Health Authority of Trieste • Regional Public Housing Agency • NGO Fondazione Luchetta Ota • D’Angelo Hrovatin This project is implemented through the CENTRAL EUROPE Programme co-financed by the ERDF

Montebello Project - The target group is potentially represented by all the inhabitants of the block and in particular the elderly and people with disabilities - Objectives are develop advanced and innovative community welfare through integrated home-care and community services, participatory analysis of people's needs, the development of self-managed informal care, good social relations in order to guarantee social inclusion, participation and active life within the home- and community context. - objectives will be pursued through the activity of a volunteer expert family (household) living in a flatof the block, encouraging the creation of a network of supportive community through targeted actions This project is implemented through the CENTRAL EUROPE Programme co-financed by the ERDF

Montebello Project HELPS supported activities -Publicity of the project and participatory needs survey (by April) -Definition and organization of specific integrated care to elederly and disabled people (by May) -Innovative community profile of social care workers (already trained – by May) -Organizing public space use, joint use, with integrated presence (by June) -Testing innovative formal and informal services (by September) -Definition of the model for community-based integrated care (by October) This project is implemented through the CENTRAL EUROPE Programme co-financed by the ERDF

Co-housing Carried out by ITIS (a Public Company for Caring People Services), it aims at: - Developing a solidarity co-housing experience - Defining criteria for innovative formal and informal services - Promoting inter-generational solidarity -Innovative community and neighbourhood relations This project is implemented through the CENTRAL EUROPE Programme co-financed by the ERDF

ITIS has already started the global restructuringof the building thatwillbereadynextautumn, with 8 flats, one public space at the groundfloor, and a common space + terrace at the top floor The aim of allowing the coexistence of different people and different generations under in one roof. The needs of independence and privacy are maintained and, at the same time, it will be created mutual help and integrated aid for less independent subjects. The residents could take advantage of a supportive network, through the mediation of a person, which will provide a monitoring service and the promotion of social relations, community development and informal care. HELPS project will support the co-housing start up through a focus group activities, involving potential future beneficiaries with the objectives of carrying out participatory needs analysis, sharing of Solidarity Value, elaboration and sharing of the individual social budget, projecting and planning the inter-generational mutual aid activities, Solidarity Contract elaboration, set ofcriteriafor the public call for beneficiariesidentification and „co-housing services” elaboration This project is implemented through the CENTRAL EUROPE Programme co-financed by the ERDF
