  3. What is MSES? • Professional Organization dedicated to improving transportation since 1895 • 1,400 members • MSES Mission • Provide Scholarships to students interested in transportation field • Allow opportunities for networking among peers

  4. MSES’s Operating Budget • 2010-2011 - $58,000 • 2011-2012 - $47,200 • Streamlining administrative functions • Examining office space needs • Bringing student banquet back

  5. Scholarship Program • Started in 1953-54 school year • Largest Civil Engineering Scholarship program in the state • $1.2M awarded to date • 20+ scholarships throughout the Midwest annually • Awarded based on financial need, academic record, and interest in the transportation field

  6. Scholarship Awards • Awarded $30,000 in 2010 along with U of M Fellowship Scholarship • Awarding $33,000 for upcoming school year

  8. Spring Golf Outing • Golf tournament with great prizes and scholarship fundraising activities • Emerald Greens Golf Course in Hastings • 180+ golfers with room to grow • Raised $3K last year • 13th annual: June 6, 2011

  9. Fall Outing • Each September in Brainerd • Fundraising / Networking • Raised $6K last year • Approximately 200 attending • Something for everyone
