THE PAST SIMPLE. FORMATION AND USE. We use the PAST SIMPLE to talk about finished or repeated ( habitual ) actions in the past or finished states in the past. We often say the time of the action. e.g . I finished my studies in 1995. ( finished action)

  8. Note: • Did/Didn’t means the sentence is already in the past. So, innegativesand inquestionsit isn’t necessary to add –ed to the main verb. You don’t say “I didn’t worked”, but “I didn’t work”!Youdon’tsay: ”Didshe went home?”, but Didshe go home?
