Our Goal and Mission • The goal of the CSN Campus Cohort Program is to create an on-campus peer support group that provides community building and personal development opportunities. • The mission of the CSN Campus Cohort Program is to provide participating students with resources to ensure persistence, ultimately resulting in the successful completion of a post-secondary degree.

  3. Structure • 2 student coordinators at 5 campuses • UC Berkeley • UC San Diego • UC Davis • San Francisco State University • City College of San Francisco • Planning and Oversight “Cohorts Committee” • Program Coordinator

  5. Academic and Career Readiness • Programs: • Learning Communities • Tutoring • On-Track Enrollment • Faculty-Student Interaction • Internships

  6. Financial Planning • Programs: • FAFSA/Financial Aid • Financial Literacy/Budgeting

  7. Social and Personal Development • “Socialize” issues rather than “Internalize” • Historically underrepresented students at universities face a culture shock. Many students cite alienation and difficulty navigating student services when they need help as reasons for dropping out.

Statewide Collaboration • Bay Area CSN • 1part time coordinator • 2 Student Leaders trained before the school year starts • Partner organizations support through an advisory committee • UC Davis • 2 Coordinators collaborate • 2 upperclassmen leaders trained before school year starts, 2 underclassmen leaders support • EBCF provides one staff person to support along with CSN Coordinator • SoCal CAN • 1 part time coordinator • 2 Student Leaders identified as the year progresses • Partner organizations provide one staff person to lead students at a school
