  1. Thrush Thrush is a yeast infection of the mucus lining of the mouth and tongue.

  2. Signs & Symptoms • Thrush appears as velvety, whitish lesions on the mouth and tongue. • Underneath the white is red tissue that may bleed easily • Lesions slowly increase is number and size • Culture may be taken of the lesions

  3. Cause & Cure • In infants, treatment usually isn’t necessary. Usually clears up in about 2 weeks • In adults, eating yogurt or taking OTC medication can help • In severe cases, an antifungal mouthwash or lozenges are prescribed for up to 10 days
